Hatha Yoga Pradipika

The Hatha Yoga Pradipika is by no means the first text to contain the ideas of yoga; even in the hatha yoga tradition it is not the first. However, this text has received wide coverage in ancient and modern media, it is known and referenced. For this we also love it and read it ourselves.

This text is from the 15th century, by Swatmarama. The text is most often considered together with the Jyotsna commentary, whose author is Brahmamanda.

However, there are 400 years between the text itself and the commentary; the commentary was not created until the 19th century.

Sanskritologists of the project "Sanskrit in Ukraine" translate the text with the commentary, publishing excerpts of it in the Telegram channel.
